VE PR Vice President Serves as a Judge for 41st Annual PRSA-NCC Thoth Competition

Bethesda, Md. – Jennifer Strohm, a vice president of the Bethesda-based communications consulting company, Van Eperen Public Relations (VEPR) www.vepublicrelations.com, served as a judge for the Public Relations Society of America-National Capital Chapter’s (PRSA-NCC) (www.prsa-ncc.org) 41st Annual Thoth Awards competition.

“As a board member of the PRSA-NCC, it’s important for me to actively participate in our annual peer review and awards process to acknowledge the exceptionally talented pool of professionals we work alongside in greater Washington, D.C.,” said Jennifer Strohm, vice president, VE PR. “It’s an honor to see their work first-hand and know the difference they’re making using traditional and social media (web 2.0) and numerous other communications outreach strategies and tactics.”

Strohm, who has served as the editor of the chapter’s monthly electronic newsletter since 2007, was among a panel of PRSA-NCC volunteer judges reviewing the most exceptional communications programs in the Greater Washington, D.C. area. Achievements were recognized in 39 categories with fourteen honoring the best public relations campaigns and 25 component categories which recognize outstanding accomplishments in public relations tactics. Entries for this year’s Thoth awards were due in June and the award winners will be honored at a ceremony on Thursday, Sept. 24 at the 41st Annual Thoth Awards Gala & News Seminar in Washington, D.C.

The annual Thoth awards (pronounced “tot”) are named after the Egyptian god of communication. They recognize the most exceptional public relations programs in the Greater Washington D.C. area.

PRSA-NCC is the largest chapter of the national organization, the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) (www.prsa.org) that is the world’s largest organization for public relations professionals with over 100 chapters nationwide.
